Privacy Policy

Short version: we ask for what an order needs and nothing else, we do not sell it to anybody, and you can have it back or have it deleted by writing one email.

Who holds your data

Fabian Klainman, sole trader / autónomo, Lugar Poligono 12 12, 07840 Santa Eulària des Riu, Illes Balears, Spain — NIF Y4586742G, trading as Symbolika. We are the data controller. Write to shop@symbolika.com about anything on this page and a person will answer.

What we collect, and why

When you order. Your name, delivery address, email, and what you bought. We need it to make the piece, send it to you, and talk to you about it. That is the contract between us — it is the reason we may hold it, and without it there is no order.

Your payment. We never see your card. The checkout is Shopify's and the card details go to the payment provider, not to us. We see that the order was paid.

When you write to us. Whatever you put in the message. We keep the thread so the next reply makes sense.

When you subscribe. Your email address, because you asked us to write to you. You can stop it from any email we send, and stopping is instant.

When you visit. Your IP address and what the site was asked for, which is how a web server works, plus the analytics described below. We keep the site secure and we look at what people read.

What we do not collect. We do not ask your age, your gender or your interests, we do not buy data about you from anyone, and we do not sell or rent yours. We do not profile you ourselves, and no automated decision of ours has any legal or similarly significant effect on you.

Who else sees it

Only the companies that make the shop work, only the part each one needs, and each one is bound to use it for nothing else:

  • Shopify — the store platform, hosting, checkout and payment.
  • Printful — printing and shipping — receives the delivery name and address to fulfil the order.
  • Judge.me — product and shop reviews.
  • Elastic Email — sending the newsletter.
  • Google Analytics — how the site is used.
  • Meta (Facebook) — measuring and targeting our ads.
  • Google Ads — measuring and targeting our ads.
  • Google Merchant Center — listing the products on Google Shopping.
  • Pinterest — measuring and targeting our ads.

The ones that measure or target our advertising are the reason the cookie question is asked, and declining stops them.

Beyond those, we hand your data to somebody else only if the law requires it. We do not sell it, and we never will.

Data that leaves Europe

Some of those companies are outside the EEA, and one of them may print your parcel outside it — that is what Printful printing near you means in practice. Where that happens, the transfer runs on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. Ask us and we will tell you which applies to your order.

How long we keep it

Orders and invoices: as long as Spanish tax and commercial law requires us to — currently six years from the end of the accounting year. We cannot delete these early, and if you ask us to erase your data this is the part that stays.

Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, and then we keep only the fact that you opted out, so we do not write to you again by accident.

Messages: only as long as we need them — to answer you, and to make sense of it if you write again. Then they go.

Analytics: as configured in the tools named above, and never tied to your name by us.

What you can ask for

All of it, and none of it costs anything:

A copy of what we hold. A correction. Deletion. A machine-readable export you can take elsewhere. A pause on processing while something is in dispute. An objection to anything we do on the basis of our legitimate interest. And where you gave consent — the newsletter, non-essential cookies — you can withdraw it at any time, which does not undo what was lawful before you did.

Write to shop@symbolika.com. We may ask one question to check it is really you, and that is the only reason we would ask.

If we get it wrong, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es), or to the authority in the EU country where you live.

Cookies

The shop needs a few to work at all — the one that remembers your cart, the one that keeps you logged in, the one that keeps the checkout secure. Those have no alternative and are not up to you or us.

The rest — the ones that measure how the site is used — run only if you accept them when you are asked. Decline is a real answer and the shop works the same.

Children

This is a shop for adults. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child under 16. If you think we have, write to us and it will be deleted.

Changes to this page

We update it when what we actually do changes. If the change matters to you, we say so here rather than hoping you re-read it.
